As the name suggests, this stone detached cottage rests at the foot of the Dovedales. Thorpe Cloud is one of the most famous landmarks and well loved beauty spots of the Peak District National Park and The Rest is set in the glorious conservation village of Thorpe. Here you will find the perfect romantic hideaway and most gorgeous, stunning walks right on your doorstep….
The oak stable front door opens to reveal an entrance hall complete with solid oak floor, console table, gorgeous French mirror and convenient fitted storage cupboard for coats and footwear. This leads to the lounge, which overlooks the pretty stone village of Thorpe and the back drop of Derbyshire countryside. The window looks out directly onto the ornamental pond and lawned garden. A log burner, gas effect, warms the room on winter nights. The chic, clean lines of natural wood floors, leather sofas and modern artwork in the sitting room offer uncluttered comfort.
Timeless oak flooring and a beautiful hand painted French white bed frame creates the most romantic and perfect ambience in the master bedroom.
A bright twin/double bedroom is styled with contemporary English country furniture and is the epitome of indulgence. The two twin beds can be zip-linked together to make a double bed strewn with plump cushions and sumptuous throws.
A period style bathroom is fitted with traditional white porcelain, a glass screened bath and an invigorating shower.
The pretty fitted kitchen diner with French cream country kitchen table and contemporary oak buffet unit with built in dishwasher, electric hob and oven, offers a light and spacious place to cook and enjoy conversation, whether over long summer evenings or cosy morning breakfasts.
The kitchen leads out into a small conservatory with exposed stone and glazed windows looking out across the garden and seating area. Perfect for soaking up the sun, reading or contemplating which next 5 mile walk to take from The Rest’s collection of books. The antique cream iron patio furniture can also be folded up and taken out into the garden.
Another door through the conservatory takes you into the lovely clean utility/laundry area with cloakroom facilities and area to store walking boots and outdoor wear. This leads into the beautiful and light Garden Room with single day bed, which can be used as either a single bedroom or a large seating area. Recently refurbished, there is a wardrobe, large chest of drawers and bedside cabinet with French doors leading out to the hot tub in a secluded courtyard. Perfect for summer or winter months!
A gravelled drive to the side of the property allows two cars to park off-road.
